Make sure to stay until the end of the festival for the Independence Day fireworks show over the Willamette River.

Oregon Berry Festival

There’s a reason that Oregon is known nationwide for its juicy, delicious berries. Come to the Oregon Berry Festival and taste the best berries of the season. There is a children’s arts and crafts booth, dozens of vendors, and every berry related food item you can dream of. Satisfy your sweet tooth and head on down!

Cathedral Park Jazz Festival

Where: St John’s Cathedral Park

When: July 15th to July 17th

This free weekend jazz festival is held underneath the stunning arches of Cathedral Park. Grab a blanket and some food from the local vendors and take a seat in the grass or head to the beer garden. Either way, you will be listening to local musicians play a variety of different jazz. It’s easy to see why this event has been a part of the community for the past 37 years.

Flicks on the Bricks

Where: Pioneer Square

When: Every Friday Night from 7/22 through 8/19

Celebrate the end of the work week by heading to Pioneer Square for a free outdoor Friday night movie. On five consecutive Friday evenings, a PG or G rated movie will be playing for the community. Each week, enter 101.9 Kink FM’s contest to win tickets to a special, extra comfy seating area, furnished by Portland IKEA. Check out their website to see which movie is playing which week and make sure to bring some popcorn.

Adult Soap Box Derby

Where: Mt Tabor Park

When: August 20th

The annual Soap Box Derby shouldn’t be missed. Our office had a blast being one of the sponsors last year and can’t wait to join in the festivities again this year. Watch contestants race their homemade soapboxes through the park and cheer on the winner. This volunteer run event is free for all and a perfect end to the summer.
